If you're thinking backyard wedding, then you should take a cue from this couple. There were so many amazing details all over the place!
From their birch tree center pieces to their naked wedding cake, every single detail was well thought out and executed perfectly.
Kelcey's father spent many hours putting together a birch tree arbor where Justin and Kelcey would exchange their vows.
Kelcey's mother and her friend Cindy (as well as Kelcey's father and her brother, Tyler) worked their fingers to the bone, cutting wood, paper, plants and vines and so much more getting everything to look just so. (They even decorated the strap tie downs of the tent!) Every time I thought I captured the last detail I would turn around and find another one!

The details were just the beginning of Justin and Kelcey's perfect day, and I do mean perfect. I think it was my first wedding since June that didn't feature temp's in the 90's! Threats of a tropical storm loomed in the 7 day forecast, but luckily stayed far, far away!

Justin and Kelcey's adventure started back in 2011 when Justin had been doing a job at Kelcey's workplace in Norwich.  As luck would have it, that was the only day that he ever worked at that site – the day he and Kelcey met.
Justin, ever the devoted employee, ignored her and kept working. When they got back to their desks, Kelcey told her friends how cute he was and how she had wanted to talk to him more. One of the ladies, Cathy, decided to rectify this situation and marched back to the construction zone to ask Justin if he was single, and if he would be interested in going on a date with Kelcey. So Cathy went to talk to Justin (as Kelcey hid under her desk and died of embarrassment), and came back with his name and number on a scrap of paper. Kelcey called him a few days later, they went on a date, and the rest is history.

They chose their home as their wedding location because, well, its home! They worked tirelessly for the better part of a year getting everything together for their perfect day. (Kelcey admits, Justin did the majority of the work.) It was all worth it to be married under their very own chestnut tree surrounded by friends and family.
The reception kicked off with a bang. Justin & Kelcey had taken dancing lessons for about a year with Maria from Maria's school of Dance, and decided to do the tango as a first dance!
They totally nailed the routine as Kelcey, who changed into a red dress especially for the first dance, tore up the dance floor.
Food was to die for! A buffet style meal, with a full carving station, catered by On the Spot Catering out of Plainfield, CT.
Justin and Kelcey turned their cool barn in the backyard into a full bar for guests, and a s'more station for the kids. (okay, and adults as well!)

It would be easy to just focus on the great details and the awesome food, but above all else, it was great to see two families become one.  In my experience Justin and Kelcey are kind, generous, and funny. I wish them the best of luck!

From Kelcey & Justin :
"Thank you so much to all our family and friends who helped to make this beautiful day a reality. It really was a group effort and we could not have done it without you!"
