I love shooting a variety of different styled weddings, but once in a while you meet a couple who you share a similar vision with and click. From the fist time I met with Erick and Maureen I knew their wedding was going to be special and something I definitely wanted to be a part of.
Erick & Maureen's big day started off as every brides worst nightmare, pouring rain! (And a photographers nightmare as well. I swear we watch the forecast more than brides do.) Luck was on their side however, and the sky cleared before the ceremony began, and a mixture of clouds and sunshine prevailed. Their Venue, Zukas Hilltop Barn, in Spencer Massachusetts features beautiful hilltop views, with rolling fields, stone walls, and plenty of nooks and crannies perfect for pictures. Both Maureen and Erick fell in love with the venue the second they drove up its long and winding drive.

Maureen's wore a Pronovias  lace wedding dress and head band made of baby's breath.  All of the details chosen by the bride and groom truly embodied the bohemian style and completed the vision they had dreamed about for their special day. There were 6 bridesmaids, each of whom picked out their own style and color of dress. Maureen's only request being that they were long, made of chiffon, and in the nude neutral tones.  She thought they did a great job!
Maureen and her twin sister are both hair stylists, and they even work at the same salon. ( I can honestly say I forgot who was who a few times while they were getting ready!)  They share an amazing bond as you can well imagine. They took turns not only getting each other prepped, but also the rest of the bridal party.  The team effort was in full effect!

The boys shirts, vests, and ties, as well as Erick's tweed suit jacket were all from Men's Wearhouse. They opted out of the traditional suit pants and instead went with very dark washed jeans from American Eagle, paired with dark brown cowboy boots.
When it came time for the ceremony, some dark clouds moved in which cooled off what turned out to be a very warm day and enhanced the already beautiful skyline view from the ceremony site. To make the day even more special, Erick's grandmother was the officiant! Not too many couples can say that!
Their reception was under a large tented outdoor space full of fairy lights, and featured elegant white tablecloths, and Maureen's whimsical and woodsy center pieces and beautiful arrangements of white hydrangeas.
Erick and Maureen were introduced into their emotional and joyful first dance. Both the maid of honor and best man gave touching speeches with kind words, and just the perfect amount of embarassing stories that got the crowd roaring, and Maureen and Erick blushing. Maureen and her dad shared a touching father daughter dance . They didn't want the rest of the night to be filled with the usual interruptions so they cast the rest of the traditions aside and just really enjoyed their wedding reception. They even skipped the traditional cake cutting, and instead featured a spread of delicious cupcakes for their guest to enjoy at their own leisure.

Here are some of the highlights of the day. Enjoy!

I try hard to avoid getting my picture taken but someone seems to catch me. Photo credit to Caitlin, and thanks for tagging me in the photo.
Here was the shot without me in it!
These girls were like the secret service! Protecting Maureen from any boys trying to get a glimpse of her before the ceremony.

Thank you again to Maureen & Erick for having me be a part of your day! I had so much fun photographing your wedding and wish your family the best of luck.
