I love visiting great venues with lots of charm, its even better when that venue is in your backyard. The Golden Lamb, which is located in my hometown of Brooklyn, CT isn't your typical wedding spot. From its mouth watering homemade cuisine, to the rolling hill views of beautiful stone walls and its crystal clear pond, the Golden Lamb is unique in every way.
Ricky and Caitlin enjoyed an intimate ceremony with friends and family under a large tree in an otherwise open field. Ricky has a personal connection to the Lamb, as his family owns and operates the facility. (No pressure right?!) It was great to not only share in their wonderful day, but to also get the history lesson of the grounds and how it all started.
Ricky even spent the morning of his wedding mowing and prepping the fields for the ceremony! After a brief first look, Ricky & Caitlin slipped away for a quick drink together as they watched guests gather together before the ceremony.  It was my first chance to see Caitlin and Ricky interact together and I will say there was no anxiety of getting married in either of them. There calm and polite demeanor was a pleasure to be around, and that extends to their families as well.
Their large smiles continued throughout the ceremony, that was meaningful as well as personal to them as a couple. Caitlin looked beautiful in her very unique lace and satin A-line dress, as her father escorted her down the aisle while a violinist played in the background. What many didn't see was the playful pink glitter sneaks she wore, which speaks to her fun personality. Just one of the many cool details of the day!

I have to give a large shout out to Ricky's sister, Katie for all her help with organizing family members during formal pictures. One of the most touching moments of the day was when Caitlin and her mother Liz shared a few moments with Nana. Nana couldn't stay for the reception but was so happy to witness her granddaughter get married. She even a handmade white cashmere caplet for Caitlin to wear as the temps dropped later in the night.

During cocktail hour, guest were invited to take a hayride around the grounds while a guitarist played for them.
After the first dance and some funny and emotional toasts by Ricky and Caitlin's siblings it was time for dinner, which of course did not disappoint! The almond crusted chicken, and pumpkin ravioli were simply amazing, and screamed fall in New England.  Not to mention the amazing spread of pies and desserts served later in the evening. Absolutely top notch!
The reception was filled with lots of dancing and great association. The night was certainly about celebrating love and the uniting of families. We were honored to be a part of their celebration and wish them a lifetime of happiness!
